Alcoa Corporation price chart
Alcoa Corporation is a vertically integrated aluminum company engaged in bauxite mining, alumina refining, and primary aluminum production. By output volume, it ranks among the world’s largest bauxite miners and alumina refiners, though it remains outside the top 10 aluminum producers, a group largely led by Chinese companies. The company’s earnings are closely linked to commodity price movements across the aluminum value chain. Alcoa was the first company to mass-produce aluminum, introducing the transformative Hall-Héroult smelting process in the 1880s, which made aluminum more affordable. It became a public company in 1925. In 2016, Alcoa spun off its automotive and aerospace metal parts business to concentrate on mining, refining, and smelting, and in mid-2024 it acquired the remaining 40% stake in AWAC.
