Market cap equals the current price multiplied by the circulating supply. It's the benchmark for ranking crypto assets and comparing their relative size: Bitcoin's market cap is bigger than every other coin combined, and the top 10 typically accounts for over 80% of the total crypto market.
A coin is the native asset of its own blockchain (Bitcoin on Bitcoin, ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana). A token is issued on top of an existing blockchain, usually through a smart contract: USDC, UNI or LINK are ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum. Both show up on the Assets page with the chain they live on.
