Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. is a gold mining company with operations in Canada, Mexico, Finland, and Australia. As recently as 2008, the company operated only the LaRonde mine before rapidly expanding by bringing additional mines online in the years that followed. In 2022, Agnico Eagle merged with Kirkland Lake Gold, adding the Detour Lake and Macassa mines in Canada as well as the high-grade, low-cost Fosterville mine in Australia. The company sold approximately 3.4 million ounces of gold in 2025 and held about 15 years of gold reserves at the end of 2025. Agnico Eagle remains focused on growing gold production in lower-risk jurisdictions and, in 2023, acquired the remaining 50% stake in the Canadian Malartic mine, along with the Wasamac project and other assets, from Yamana Gold.
