América Móvil is Latin America’s largest telecommunications provider, serving approximately 335 million wireless subscribers across the region. The company also offers fixed-line telephone, broadband internet, and television services in most of the markets where it operates. Mexico is América Móvil’s largest market, generating about 35% of service revenue. The company leads Mexico’s wireless sector with roughly 60% subscriber share and serves around half of the country’s fixed-line broadband customers. Brazil, its second-largest market, contributes about 20% of service revenue. In 2021, América Móvil sold its low-margin US wireless resale business to Verizon and now holds a 1.4% stake in the US telecom company. The firm also owns a 61% stake in Telekom Austria.
