Comcast Corporation operates through three main segments. Its core cable business owns networks that deliver television, internet, and phone services to 65 million homes and businesses across the United States, representing nearly half the country, and the company serves about half of the locations within this footprint. Comcast acquired NBCUniversal from General Electric in 2011. After the spinoff of several cable networks, including CNBC, MSNBC, and USA, NBCUniversal now includes the NBC broadcast network, local NBC affiliates, Bravo, the Peacock streaming platform, Universal Studios, and several theme parks. Comcast also owns Sky, acquired in 2018, a major television provider in the UK and Italy.
