In 2025, the company generated $11.1 billion in revenue on nearly $80 billion in gross merchandise volume, serving 135 million active buyers and 18 million active sellers, defined as users who completed at least one transaction during the past year. eBay primarily monetizes its platform through transaction fees and advertising, with 52% of revenue coming from the US and the balance from international markets.
