Edison International (NYSE: EIX) is the parent company of Southern California Edison, a regulated electric utility that delivers power to approximately 5 million customers across a 50,000-square-mile service area in Southern California, excluding Los Angeles. The company also has interests in non-utility operations through Edison Energy, which provides energy-related products and services. In 2014, Edison International sold its wholesale power generation subsidiary, Edison Mission Energy, out of bankruptcy to NRG Energy.
