FedEx Corporation pioneered overnight shipping in 1973 and continues to be the world’s largest express package delivery company. In fiscal 2025, its Federal Express segment, which includes the core package delivery business, generated 86% of total revenue, while FedEx Freight, the company’s asset-based less-than-truckload shipping unit, contributed 10%. The remaining revenue came from other operations, including FedEx Office, which offers document production and shipping services, and FedEx Logistics, which provides global freight forwarding. FedEx strengthened its European footprint through the 2016 acquisition of Dutch parcel carrier TNT Express, formerly the world’s fourth-largest parcel delivery provider.
