National Grid plc owns and operates the electricity transmission network in England and Wales. In fiscal 2023, the company sold most of its UK gas transmission business to help finance the acquisition of PPL’s UK power distribution assets. In the Northeastern United States, National Grid provides combined electricity and gas services across three states. The company also owns regulated electricity transmission networks in the US, as well as metering services and merchant transmission lines in the UK.
