SK Telecom Co., Ltd. is South Korea’s largest wireless telecommunications operator, serving 32 million mobile subscribers. The company also owns SK Broadband, formerly Hanaro Telecom, which has 7.2 million broadband customers and 9.5 million pay TV subscribers, including 6.7 million IPTV users and 2.8 million cable TV customers. Stakes in security, semiconductor memory, e-commerce, and internet platform businesses were spun off into the separately listed SK Square in November 2021. SK Telecom was established after SK Group acquired KT’s mobile business in 1994.
