Viatris Inc. Common Stock price chart
Viatris Inc. was created in November 2020 through the merger of Upjohn, Pfizer’s wholly owned off-patent drug business, and Mylan, a global pharmaceutical company focused on generic and specialty medicines. The combination established Viatris as one of the world’s largest generic drug manufacturers, with operations serving more than 165 countries. Generics, including both commoditized and complex products, along with biosimilars, account for about 40% of total revenue. The other roughly 60% comes from a portfolio of legacy brands such as Lipitor, Norvasc, Lyrica, and Viagra. Although the company operates across more than 10 major therapeutic areas, it has identified dermatology, ophthalmology, and gastroenterology as its three primary focus areas for future innovation.
