Verizon Communications generates about 75% of its total service revenue and nearly all of its operating income from wireless services. Through its nationwide network, the company serves roughly 94 million postpaid and 20 million prepaid phone customers, making it the largest wireless carrier in the United States. Its fixed-line telecom business includes local networks across the Northeast that pass around 30 million homes and businesses, with about 20 million connected to the Fios fiber-optic network. In January, Verizon completed its acquisition of Frontier Communications, adding networks that reach an additional 15 million locations, including 9 million with fiber. Together, these networks serve approximately 11 million broadband customers. Verizon also delivers telecom services to enterprise customers nationwide through a combination of owned and third-party networks.
