By the end of 2025, Yum! Brands, Inc. generated more than $68 billion in systemwide sales from over 63,000 restaurants in 155 markets, ranking as the world’s second-largest restaurant company by dollar sales. Its brand portfolio includes KFC (33,897 locations), Pizza Hut (19,974), Taco Bell (9,030), and Habit Burger (384), with 72% of its restaurants located in international markets. Because 97% of its portfolio is franchised, Yum! Brands’ business model is primarily driven by recurring franchise royalties and marketing contributions, which account for 64% of revenue, while the remainder comes from company-owned restaurant sales. The company originated from the 1997 spinoff of PepsiCo’s restaurant business.
