Flare is a layer 1 blockchain whose initial ambition was to bring smart contracts to the XRP Ledger network, now extended to all networks lacking them. The technological infrastructure of Flare consists of the C-Chain, an EVM-Compatible network, and the P-Chain, a network dedicated to staking and validator rewards. To bring smart contracts to incompatible networks, Flare offers two protocols that form a kind of decentralized oracle: the Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO), to extract data streams from blockchains, and the State Connector, to securely connect and implement this data on the networks.
